Get up earlier to lose weight

1: Mental preparation.

  • Time to remind yourself of your big goal.
  • Time to remind yourself of your daily habits.
  • Time to go over the day’s schedule and any important appointments / events.
  • Time to create a positive mindset for the day (this does’t just happen, you have to make it happen).

2: Burn more calories.

People on average will burn more calories if they spend more time awake during daylight hours compared to if they were awake during night hours. ie. go to bed early and get up early and you’re likely to burn more calories without even trying to!

3: Consume less calories.

People who rise early and go to bed early make healthy food and drink choices.

You’re WAAAAYYYYYY less likely to be eating crappy food and drinking alcohol or sugary drinks in the morning than you are at night.

How do you transform from a night owl to an early bird?

  1. Remove obstacles that are keeping you up at night eg. Netflix, phones, lack of life organisation etc.
  2. No snooze button… ever. Set yourself boundaries and stick to them!
  3. Have something to look forward to in the morning eg. cup of tea or coffee, revise your goals, catch up with a friend for a training session.
  4. Have a strong reason WHY eg. to lose that 5kg you really want to get rid of, enjoy more family time at the end of the day, to work on your business idea you always talk about.

Your reason WHY needs to be stronger than your desire to stay in bed!
