This is living

I was making my famous (by my standards) chicken and zucchini soup the other day and thought I’d be a good mother and get everyone some crusty bread to go with it.

Off I went to the supermarket…

Then as I was looking around the bread section, praising myself for being so considerate of others, I noticed this weird loaf on the bottom rack.

I picked it up… only to discover that the bread had been sliced horizontally not vertically!!!

What was this phenomenon?

Was this a thing and no one had told me about it?

As I was staring in wonderment, another bloke arrived, saw what I had in my hands, and picked up the remaining prize loaf.

“Is this a thing now?” I asked him.

“I have no idea… is it a mistake?” He said.

“I don’t know, but how good is this – look how long the crust is.” I showed him the side of my loaf.

“Oh wow!!! well I’ll be taking this one.

“Yes definitely, me too”.

“This is living” he said.

Absolutely! This is living.

And on the drive home I thought to myself…. It’s the little pieces of magic each day that make life wonderful. ……

Then I arrived home and showed everyone the amazing loaf of prize bread and told them my very funny story and all I got was:

“I don’t like seeds in bread”.
