Our 7th SBF GETAWAY has just finished and it was FANTASTIC! Here’s a quick recap of what we got up to…
Day 1: Thursday
We kickstarted the weekend with a leisurely coastal walk around the headland to Moffat Beach.
We were treated to a wonderful show of whales frolicking as they made their way south, and hoped that they’d still be around tomorrow for our snorkelling trip.

Dinner that night was downstairs from our resort at Kings Beach Bar and I had the most delicious fish tacos I have ever tasted!
The festivities had well and truly begun 🙂
Day 2: Friday
It was an early morning wake up call to get out on the road by 4.15am and head out to Cooroy for our Hot Air Ballooning experience.
Our arrival at the designated meeting place will go down in SBF folklore. Unfortunately I am unable to retell the exact circumstances, due to incriminating some of my much loved and loyal members… However I’m pretty sure the ballooning people won’t forget us anytime soon.

The ballooning was amazing and the breakfast afterwards was amazing too.
After lunch it was time for our snorkelling and whale watching adventure with Captain Kevy from Scuba World at Mooloolaba.

What an experience! I’d only ever seen whales from land before so it was a real treat to get up so close and see them playing about.
We finished the day with a group dinner and much laughter.

Day 3: Saturday
Saturday began with some of us doing BOOTCAMP by the beach and some doing Golden Beach parkrun … and then all of us meeting for a group breakfast at Sandbar Cafe at Bulcock Beach.

Our next official activity was an art class with our brilliant art teacher Tanya.
She was extremely patient and helped us all create a wonderful keepsake from our weekend.

Then it was our 80’s dinner and trivia night.

Day 4: Sunday
We finished our weekend with an undercover yoga class (which wasn’t ideal but at least we got it in) and then a farewell breakfast and it was time to head back to reality again.

Thank you members for making our Caloundra ’22 GETAWAY such a wonderful experience
You are my people and I’m already looking forward to doing it all again next year!
You don’t stop laughing because you grow older. You grow older because you stop laughing.
